We've had about 4 years of bad to good service with Starband. Once it's
working, it's great. Troubleshooting and setting up is a pain. Have a
computer tech do it, especially if networking (yes, contrary to what
they tell you, it can be networked.) And cheaper than it used to be.

Of course, it still has all the issues of being a satellite system. It
looks like we'll get a WAN in town soon, and I cannot wait.

Wrenches,

  Way back in Aug of '04 their was some talk about satellite broadband
on the list and a couple of folks said to wait for Wildblue instead of
Starband or Direcway. Have opinions changed? We are searching for good
feedback on any of the choices. Online reviews swing from great to
horrible on services, so I am reluctant to believe them. Is there
specific hardware or system we should look at over another?
