That's a C/1.26 discharge rate for a second or two, followed by a 110A load
for the duration of the pump's runtime, or C/2 discharge rate for probably
10-15 minutes. I've never tried to do this. Before we invest in another
inverter, I am asking for some guidance as to whether we can expect it to
work. Do we have to add a second string of batterie

Allen,
Last summer at SolarFest2005 in Vermont we had 4 VFX 3524s - powering
the stage with peak consumption of 15kw with the average about 12kw. We had 32
Trojan L16P's feeding the 4 inverters, each inverter having a set of 4/0
cables, 4/0 parallel jumpers and 2/0 series jumpers. I think we were drawing at
about C2 or worse and we destroyed that battery bank. Most of the batteries
exhibit lack of capacity now, as if they are 8 to 10 years old and taking
their last breath. The inverters seems to take it all in stride even though the
4/0 cables were getting quite warm. Our test was short lived as we were off
grid with only 1.2kw of PV to recover the batteries. We might have come
out better if the batteries had been completely full and maybe even cycled a
few times before we did the big test. I have no solution for your problem but
replace the pump or add the inverter and some more batteries.
