Chris,
Contact Marko Rosenfeldt at Beacon Power, 978-661-2024,
rosenfeldt at beaconpower.com. They are working on some small-scale flywheel
storage systems. About a year ago at Dankoff/Conergy, they asked for
feedback from the assembled dealers about the concept. But I think they're
still a ways away from having a product ready for market.

Wrenches,

Does anyone have any experience or information / recommendations for a
small flywheel that could be used to provide 3-5 days of power in a
residential off grid situation? I have done just a little bit of
research and it appears that flywheels are used more prevalently in
situations involving large power demands in a short period of time.

I am looking for an alternate to conventional battery storage for off
grid PV.
