Hello Ray,

A client recently purchased a 7.5kw Lister-petter Hawkpower 1800rpm liquid
cooled propane genset.  This is a diesel engine converted to propane.  The
unit does shake frightfully (as noted in a prior post) and required rubber
isolators and flex exhaust to keep from shaking apart and quiet down the
rattling.  It is not a particularly quiet 1800rpm genset.  Documentation is
poor and if I understood correctly there is no service manual available.

The genset appears robust, apparently has no electrical drains, and should
last for many thousand hours of run time. Also, appears easy to work on
including tracing electrical circuits.  Time will tell.  I have heard from a
friend that has spent a lot of time in different parts of Africa that the
Lister diesel is THE genset to have in that part of the world.
