Ken,

You did not mention if you're installing a 120 or 240 VAC (stacked pair)
system. The multiwire branch circuits are an issue primarily if you're
running a 120 VAC feed, and are tying both buses of the main panelboard
together on the same120 VAC phase. (I don't like multiwire branch circuits
for other reasons, but they'll function on a 240 VAC feed just fine in most
cases). Similarly, if there are 240 VAC receptacles for either a stove or
dryer, you may want to remove them and cover the boxes, so a future owner
doesn't try something they'd regret (especially if you're powering with a
single 120 VAC feeder).

Ron and Allan point to the correct code issue regarding exterior disconnects
and bonding. It'll be interesting to see if you AHJ requires an exterior
disconnect for a system that's installed inside of the structure. Modular
homes I've seen in my area do not have a separate pedestal service
disconnect -they have exterior meter base-disconnects mounted on an outside
wall of the structure like a conventional home -which would be the perfect
place to tie the AC feed in from the inverter and bond neutral to ground. If
the meter base is present, install a cheap kW-H meter for the client, and
they'll be able to track their energy useage on a daily basis, too.

Good luck.

We're setting up an off grid Outback PV system on a brand new modular
home, you know two trailers connected together with vinyl siding.

During our quick examination of the main panel it looks like the
neutral and ground are NOT bonded together here. I assume this could be
some holdover from trailers where the power supplied to the trailer was
fed from a panel where the ground/neutral bonding occurred.

What's the correct/best way to deal with this?
