Hi Dan,
I've had to do this a few times.
As crazy as it sounds the best way I've been able to do it is with an
Iota battery charger. ( choose your size)
Plug it into the AC side, and hook up to the DC side.
They have worked great, use little power, larger than any 12/48v
converter, and less expensive.
Yes this uses maybe a bit more power than a 12/48v converter, but I
figure if you are going to such a larger system, a few more watts
isn't a big deal.
