Depends somewhat on the specific crimp fitting used.  On a smaller job we would use a ratcheting crimper (most likely dieless) but if there were a large number of crimps or very tight working space we would bring in the hydraulic tool with the remote head.  We work mostly inside buildings -- my electrician (who does more service entry stuff but does not own big hydro crimpers) really likes the Cadweld stuff.
