Hi Kurt,
                I remeber there was concern about battery straps also but
there is also a solution for the screw issue.  Bootlace ferrules.  I have
recently souced some up to 50mm, sorry don't know what that is in American!
Very thin metal sleves that can be crimped to protect the strands against
shear from the screw.  Have started using them and won't be without now.
