Here is a "little known" tidbit on freight. There is no insurance
coverage on any cargo that is "air suspended" and gets damaged. 
Fill the box with peanuts ant you are good to go. I have a supplier that
has had to start filling all his factory supplied boxes with peanuts
just so UPS would cover any damages.
At $1500.00 per box and 30+ boxes a week any damage that is not covered
gets into the profit real easily. 

It will not stop the occasional fork lift but at least they don't have
that as a way to weasel out of the damages when something happens, don't
worry they probably will find something else.

The point is to surround it with something besides air or they do not
have to cover it when (not if) something happens.

Bolt that SW down to the pallet, just like when they ship the Power
Panels out (but tighten all the lags in).

Everything else is just window dressing and cosmetic protection. So wrap
it in heavy cardboard. Add some labels for "do not stack. They ship the
PowerPanels this way, with inverters installed, no extra foam around
them, so I'd say it's "approved". (And we've never had a problem with
inverter damage, unless the lags come out.) Only disadvantage to this is
you've got to ship it truck. But might be cheaper than what Mail Boxes
etc. will charge for custom packaging! (Oh yes, and make sure it's
insured.)

Hi All,

I have a SW that needs to go back for repairs.

Customer doesn't have box, and now Xantrex will does not have any boxes,
period.

" Xantrex says they will not part with SW inverter boxes for love or
money."  This from my supplier.

Anybody know what to do?
