Jerry and Doug,

I echo Doug's advice about gluing on a sheet of glass or plexiglass or 
similar using silicone sealant. I wish to add that I leave gaps in the 
sealant along the bottom, to allow moisture to escape.

How 'bout any experience with windshield repair techniques??   --- 
assuming the glass remains flat, that is.
