  I second your disgust, Keith. I simply have a difficult time understanding 
the level of short-sightedness and outright stupidity evident in the small 
majority of our senators. All the environmental damage that will inevitably 
occur as a result of this for such puny, short term "gain" should make the 
American people furious, but it probably won't.

  Well, it happened today, as I predicted (not proud!). 51-49 votes- ANWR
  drilling...all for a measly 1 million barrels a day at peak output
  (estimated at press time today).



  It is amazing to me that we are in Iraq trying to liberate these folks 
from
  tyranny. We are paying to liberate them through our military through our 
tax
  dollars at a billion a day, and hypocritically buying the fuel from these
  folks to feed the tyranny (terrorism).



  Do I see a circle here?



  News flash...$56 a barrel today and rising..GM takes a hit on the stock
  market.between steel, copper and oil prices rising..no one is buying
  SUV's...perhaps some of the public is getting it.

  I think I am spending too much time at our legislature, educating the 
powers
  that be to think differently...they have the proclivity to change...but 
will
  they be swayed by not examining the empirical evidence..???
