Well

Here is another drill for peace concept: the euro has grown against the
dollar substantially - like 40% in 4 years- so, what if we went to the
middle east to stave off Mr. Hussein's desire to trade oil in Euros as
opposed to the ubiquitous dollars- that would sure put our economy in a
tailspin. Perhaps that is another reason we are camping out there. In our
pacific business news paper a few weeks ago, Exxon- Mobile stated they have
14 years of proven reserves on the books...at today's consumption
rate....but, what of like our solar industry today, some other nation will
offer more for the product- i.e. China- then what....they will buy the oil
for whatever it is going for- at 9% growth rate and an Olympics on the
horizon- and 10% of their GDP output just for Sprawl mart alone- they have a
lot at stake!

Relatively speaking, the Europeans aren't spending as much as we are for
oil, but also recognize that we have only so much of it and it ain't worth
fighting over. Hence the juicy feed in tariffs Germany has been enjoying.

I recall in the movie the Matrix, it referred to humans as viruses- go
everywhere and consume the resources.....it sure is starting to look like
it. Not to be a pessimist....but, they are also talking about new laws that
will allow the nuke industry to build new plants on the existing properties-
under the guise of grand fathered laws...like a thief in the night!

Go solar folks......

Thanks Michael!

Hey Keith, Was just reading your comment "At this point, I am ready to suck
up all of the oil in sight, buy an suv and extract it as soon as possible
from the middle east and then Russia and then ANWAR (we will be forced to
drill there eventually). Drill for peace!

I had a good chuckle reading that. Very interesting. All of this political
discussion gets so complicated I have tried to stop spending as much time
trying to figure it all out. I did have an interesting discussion a week
ago with a friend who is a chief inspector for the
Army Corp's of Engineers. He mentioned a certain large well know oil
company has been quietly buying up the oil derricks and lease rights off the
California coast, and why are the Enviro's so quiet. I mentioned that
perhaps; now that we have solar programs it has opened the doors for oil
companies to finally donate acceptable and large sums of money to enviro
groups, who have now become accustomed to this welcomed increased cash flow.
Oh, well, who knows what's really going on, probably not me. But I would
not be surprised to see lobbying to reopen California's oil spigots again,
in the relative near future.

Between the union and labor issues and conflicting interests it's hard to
see clearly.

Graham
