I love those sealed "j-boxes" and MC connectors! Being that over time the most common reason for an array malfunction is j-box corrosion. How many times in the past have we all found water in j-boxes? Way too many times for me! And with my work in ther tropics these sealed boxes have been a Godsend (I'll often heat shrink the MC in the tropics). Many like to extend the cable w/more MC leads from their supplier, I can't handle the price so I chop off my home run lead and butt splice and heat shrink onto it a run of USE-2 all the way back to my DC disco if close enough or to a gutter for transition to THHN-2 or equal for the long run home. I like to use DIN rail mounted terminal strips in my gutters for the splicing and easy string testing.
Even for low voltage systems the above pratice works well, sure you lob off many connectors, but little chance of failed connections out there in the weather with j-boxes "pumping" damp or wet air from thermal cycling.
