Conrad,

Unless you are dealing with a really nice utility (there are a few out
there), the interconnection costs are going to be extreme if you want to do
a direct machine connection. Most utilities are going to be far more
comfortable with an inverter interconnection, because they are now familiar
with that technology. Utilities are very familiar with induction and
synchronous machine connections, but the regulations on that stuff blows
most 10 kW projects out of the water. What utility are you working with?

Hi All,
    Anyone have experience grid tying a gen set?  I have a friend/customer
who wants to run his 10KW on biodeisel and net meter.  Any elegant way of
matching the output to the grid via RPM control? 6% harmonic distortion....
    It's always something.
