Wrenches and Efficiency Specialists,

Please consider this special tour to Japan. We need about four more
people to make it possible. The following letter is from Randy Sadewic
who lived in Japan for 5 years. He will lead the trip with his wife
Nao, who is from Japan. You may contact Randy directly.

========================

Greetings from Santa Fe,
I am inquiring of the interest in a special tour of Japan that is
scheduled around an Eco-products event in Tokyo on December 15-17.
This trip would be 9 days starting December 8th and returning December
16th.  This tour offers an “insiders” perspective on the sustainability
movement in Japan. During our stay in Japan including a guided tour of
the eco-product event (description of last years event attached), there
would be trips to retail stores to learn about incredible product
efficiencies achieved, an opportunity to talk to key individuals
involved in this exciting transition in the Ministry of the Environment
and Toshiba, a home visit or home stay to learn about daily life, time
for shopping & sight-seeing, and includes a relaxing trip to the
countryside to experience the unique and delicious food and enjoy the
wonderful natural hot springs called “onsen”.  This tour would be
unique in that we will use the public transportation system for travel
and arrange for Japanese style accommodations that are affordable by
Tokyo standards.

The cost of this trip which covers airfare (~$1,000), local travel,
lodging and basic meals is estimated to be about $2,200 plus $500 to
cover some of the cost of Randy and Nao’s travel and lodging.  In
addition, there will be a cost of about $80 added to purchase CO2
offsets for the estimated 20,000 lbs of CO2 generated by air travel.
Details of this will be provided later.

We are planning for a group size of six people which is an ideal size.

We need your response by Sept. 7 but preferably sooner if you are
interested.

If there are any special considerations or accommodations you have,
please share them with us.

Thanks,
Randy Sadewic
