It depends on a lot of factors--mostly the battery type. A good quality AGM
VRLA battery requires very little trickle charge so the nighttime losses for
an SW system is about 50 Watts. Annual average night is 12 hours so that
about be 0.6 kWh per night. It can get worse for flooded and gelled VRLA
batteries.

Awhile back I remember someone posting numbers detailing the monthly kWh
loss of the SW series of grid tied inverters running 24/7. I am writing
an article for Home Power and would love to quote those numbers. Anyone
remember what they were?
