Doug,

What you're referring to are modules from Baoding Yingli New Energy
Resources, which is a small subsidiary of a much larger conglomerate.
Baoding is a city a couple of hours south of Beijing. At present, the
largest of their UL listed modules is a 120-watt poly. They've got a
160-watt poly in UL right now. I have one sitting about 5 feet from my
desk. It's also a poly with MC cables.

For whatever it's worth, modules from the largest PRC PV manufacturers
usually use imported (from the U.S., Japan or Europe) Si wafers of silicon
blocks, imported fab machines, imported low-iron glass, imported practically
everything except the al. frames and...the labor...I saw it with very own
eyes this summer...

aloha,
marco

Marco,
AEE has imported a batch of Ying Lee (or something like that, sorry I'm
not in my office) modules. I got a flyer from them last week but haven't
looked seriously at it, other than to note they're offering a standard
25-year/20% warranty. Oh yeah, and they're IN STOCK! (A persuasive
selling point this year.) Has anyone actually seen one, checked out the
J-box, framing, etc?

Cheers,
Doug

On another note, Chinese (from the PRC that is, not Taiwan) PV
manufacturers
are set to hit the U.S. market during Q1 of 2005. Any thoughts or
comments
or observations from the group on the desirability and/or quality of
Chinese
PV modules for your applications?
