Allan and Matt,

First, my attention span can't quite get through all the logic and math and
I've got a lot of university years under my belt. My only comment is that
the performance of PV/Battery system should be done with a single current
transformer (CT) meter summing the two ac outputs through the same donut.
Brand Electronics has been doing this for years, but revenue-grade meters
exist that can do this as well. I don't think it has to be any more
complicated than a straight grid-tie. Nighttime loads should not be bothered
with on these systems--neither should the utility worry that energy will be
counted when their power goes off.
