It doesn't. William's load was a 240vac well pump. Bad idea to PWM a
relay to turn a motor load on and off regardless of ac or DC. For
that you want an On-high, Off-lower type of control. As Todd
suggested, the old C30 was good and a Simple Switch as Doug suggested
will work fine as well if you are using a relay with a DC coil. The
SW Aux relays do that just fine so long as your relay coil doesn't
need more than a few amps and it can be either ac or DC. I think they
rate it for 5A, but I wouldn't push it nearly that far. On the
contactor side of the relay you could switch either ac or DC
depending on the rating of the relay.
