Hello All,

Years ago a technician at AquaStar told me the efficiency of their
mechanically modulating unit wasn't very good (implied awful) it wasn't
running at full output. I believe that was a model 170.

Does anyone know if this is true with the newer electronically modulating
units? I've been doing some research on all the models the last year and
I've never seen any mention of this. It would be nice to see efficiency vs.
output curve.

If it is still true then using tankless water heaters for radiant in floor
applications could waste a lot of propane or NG since it's likely to be
modulating way down a lot of the time. This would be exaggerated if the
tankless water heater was oversized for the load.
