Hi Tom & all.  Topica support says that, despite the inferences of the message, nobody will be removed from subscription if they do not click on the links.

I highly recommend that you DO NOT follow the instructions in those types of emails. 

That said, if you ever want to change your email address or put your Wrench email delivery on temporary hold, you will need to log in to the Topica web site, which will include giving them some of the info they ask for 

On a related note, some folks have seen emails that appear to be from organizations, including Topica, that are really not. These emails are designed to verify your email address as being good, because spammers will pay more for verified addresses. They look like the text has a link to www.topica.com (or another legit web site), but the active URL that is under that deceptive text is to a third party web site, and includes a unique identifier that represents your email address. Watch out for these and just delete them, unless you wish to increase your spam load.
