We've owned two Hot Springs spas (Classic model) and have been very 
satisfied with their energy efficiency.  The under side of the tub is 
filled completely with foam insulation.  They operate on 120vAC.  
Dealers often sell them based on their energy efficiency, so usually 
have monthly energy use and cost figures.  They are pretty pricey new, 
but larger dealers often have trade ins that are refurbished and are as 
good as new.  We bought our last one, a 1987 refurbished model, in 2000 
for less than $2,000.  Works great.
