Hi 
Everyone from my experiance the generator running
small loads, clocks, radios, a few lights, and lots of
generator hours is not an efficient.  The cost of
generator run time on engine wear is to high.  I have
found the cost of generator operation is small
compared to maintance when operated at solid load, but
is fuel gets real high when just running partically
loaded. 

I like the idea of generators that charge the
batteries.
