Esteemed wrenches,

I wrote my reply to Allan in a somewhat confrontational frame of mind and
decided that it wasn't worth saying. HOWEVER, as the Gods would have it,
instead of sending the message to the trash bin - off it went to the list!

I apologize. I agree with Wm. Miller that the list isn't meant for promoting
one's products (even though it seems like one for promoting or trashing
other's). 

I'm actually not a very confrontational sort, but sometimes it's hard to
turn the other cheek just the same, especially if I feel unjustly accused of
something - which, in this case I did.

Anyway, Forgive the slip-up. Pleeeeeeeeze!

I presume that you are referring to me as the "self-appointed policy
police". Fair enough; I call it as I see it, and you may label me such if
you need to. But note that the first and second time that you made reference
in a Wrenches post to a product you are apparently developing and/or
representing I said nothing. The third time (if my memory serves me
correctly) is too much, in my opinion. If you have a good product, tell us
in a Home Power ad, or a press release on SolarAccess.com, Renewable Energy
World, or some such; not here. Fair enough?

I've been writing and rewriting a response to that little message, but it
kept coming out wrong. What I was intending to say was something like: this
is supposed to be a forum that shares knowledge and experience with the
intended result of a more educated and capable installer population, not a
venue for self-authorized policy police. But I didn't quite have the nerve.
Fortunately, you and those who have expressed interest off-line now know a
little bit more about what's out there, which was the whole idea. ;-)
