I wouldn't think it's cost effective to do that. What is the equivalent cost
of using propane on a small scale to generate power? 30, 40, 50 cents per
kwh maybe, depending on % of generator load, when the solar is displacing
grid power at 10 cents per kwh that time of year? AND you are already
selling all the PV to the grid when connected anyway.

All the PV feeds to a meterpak on the grid side of the ATS (Automatic
Transfer Switch). The ATS has 3 connections; Grid, LOAD and
Generator. It is a double throw switch with the load as common. You
are either on Grid or on Generator. When the Grid fails, all the Load
switches to the Generator automatically as the generator fires up.
The PV is still tied to the Grid and since the grid is dead, all the
Sunnyboys shut down.
