Hello Bill,
You probably know this, but other wrenches may not. The least-cost way to
post site and electrical information is to plastic laminate (at Kinkos, etc)
your map and wiring diagram. Use sticky-back velcro strips to attach the
laminates to the service panel. Tip: Customers like to show off the PV
systems so the laminated wiring diagram is a good place to list your company
name, address, phone number, website.
Best regards,
Joel Davidson

Mo,

What is your map placard made out of and roughly how much does it cost to
make?

Bill.

Most of our installs are in SDGE territory. This is what they allow us to
do with the Utility Visible Disconnect (UVD):

1. UVD within 8 ft of service entrance
2. UVD elsewhere, but accessible
3. If going into a sub-panel, have the UVD take out the entire sub-panel at
the service entrance. Electric service will in all likelihood be down
anyway, so this is not an inconvenience to the customer.

In all cases, the UVD needs to accessible 24/7 -- no dogs and no locked
gates, locked doors, etc that do not use an approved SDGE lock.

Also, in all instances, we need to provide a map placard at the service
entrance graphically depicting the location of the UVD and all major
equipment.
