Rinnai Heater and DR inverter? [RE-wrenches]

I don't have experience running one on a DR, but I run mine on an
Outback and was surprised to find that it will stay initialized when the
inverter is in search mode. I guess the search mode having two pulses is
just enough power. I would not expect it to do so with most other
inverters. This is something you should consider, because the Rinnai
remote will not hold a set temperature if it re-initializes. Also the
initialization process sounds like an Epson printer turning on, various
clicks, bumps, and buzzes for a few moments, sounds pretty hard on the
solenoids and relays if it were to do it very often.

Remember when using a Rinnai, that if you are using it with a pump
instead of water pressure, it has very high resistance through the heat
exchanger. I use a March 809 HS and it is just enough to be effective.
On the other hand, I put the Kill-a-watt meter on it and found it only
draws about 30 watts instead of the 75 the manual indicates. It also has
a .75 power factor, so far the BEST pf in the house!
