Max,

We install gate openers, but they all are based on a 12 volt system,
both grid or solar. If the controllers are low voltage they could always
change the drive motors if they have a  common mounting flange. It's
doubtful that it would be economically wise or competitive to use an
inverter.

Anybody had any experience with solar powered gate controllers? I have a
client that is importing gates and controls . He wants to power them
with solar. Existing control equipment is built around a 300 w 220 volt
motor....
