SW stacking question [RE-wrenches]

Hi Jay,

This will not work. The stacking ports on the inverters share a common DC
negative for signals.

So on a 24v center tapped battery bank, one inverter's DC negative terminal
and stacking port will be at 0v potential and the other inverter's DC
negative terminal and stacking port will be at a +12v potential.

Hooking up the stacking cable in this condition will blow the stacking ports
on one or both inverters because the cable will be shorting out the lower
half of the center tapped bank via the stacking ports and cable.

Subject: SW stacking question [RE-wrenches]

Hi All,

Can I stack 2 Sw 2512's into a center taped 24v battery bank?

The reason as I'm sure you are going to ask is a friend with a really large
hydro, we are talking 200 amps at 12v from the hydro. And he is trying to
improve that by going to 24v.

But he already has the SW's, hence the question.

Thanks,

jay
