Another piece of perspective -- old conventional wisdom is that array 
output drops off suddenly at a critical temperature. That's only true 
for battery charging systems (where the load voltage is relatively 
constant). However, even that is not true if the array is designed 
for excess voltage, to be dropped through a MPPT controller.

In that case, a little higher temp causes a little decrease in 
output, but not the sudden drop sometimes presumed.

The same should be true for any properly-designed grid-tie system, 
and for PV-direct water pumping systems, BTW.

So heat is merely a proportional loss factor, as far as I understand it.
