Hello Travis,
Southern California Edison will not allow net metered PV if the "load"
increases the local feeder capacity greater than 50% - yet we have been
preaching that PV provides voltage support on long skinny feeders. Go
figure.

At least your utility pays for the transformer.  One utility is SW
Missouri requires the customer to pay for it.  Needless to say this
pretty much prevents anyone from grid tie.

Hi RE-wrenches,

Our local utility (Long Island Power Authority)requires a dedicated pole

transformer for all grid tie installations.  The transformer is 
installed at the utilities expense, but I believe it is not really 
needed.

How many of you are on utilities that require a dedicated transformer?
