Just one more difference between CA and the great northeast.

What we've found is that our systems put out far more power when it's
not raining. We're working on being able to schedule that, but it's been
a tough summer.

Do clean PV arrays operate cooler and produce more power?

We did an experiment in a suburban area and found that on two
consecutive days with essentially the same weather (clear, no wind,
85F), a 4KW roof mounted array produced 7% more power after washing it
down with a garden hose from a ladder.  The modules had not been washed
for 4 months.  We recommend washing every 3-6 months unless it has
rained.
