Michael,

Your message below, probably in response to Bob-o's recent slams and insults
of John Wiles, is quite mild. Too much so in my opinion. Perhaps we ought
to think about establishing an Insults and Nastiness List? Without getting
into a pissing match with my esteemed colleague at Electron
Connection--where they deal in no "bull"--I do want to state that I believe
I speak for a number of Wrenches when I say that I have a lot of respect for
what John has contributed to the great PV cause that we're all fighting for.
If one of us has a personal problem with other Wrenches, fine. I would ask
us all, though, to keep that fine philosopher, Rodney King, maxim's in mind
when dealing with each other: "Can't we all just get along?" Or, at least
be civil and courteous with each other?

aloha,
marco

Hi gang, I have a couple of requests. I usually keep my trap shut about
these things unless I get complaints, preferring to let things flow freely.
These suggestions will help all list followers be more efficient in our
work.

1) when replying to messages, please only quote a small, pertinent amount of
the other's post. Some of these messages are huge and long with several
generations of earlier posts left in them. Also, since we cannot yet be
advertisement-free, try to leave out the old ads & list footers from what
you are quoting.

2) Please try to make it evident that quoted material is just that. Some
Wrenches' email programs do not do a good job of delineating the difference
between quoted text and the new text. This may be a matter of setting up
your email program to handle the quoting appropriately.

A highly regarded method is to set up your email program to use the ">"
symbol at the beginning of each quoted line, so each generation of quoting
has an additional ">".

I can help folks with Eudora, but I do not know the intricacies of other
programs.

But this is not intended to stifle conversation, so please do not stop
posting if you cannot follow the above requests for whatever reason. The
flow of info is more important than the form.

If you have any questions, please contact me off list.
