I took a class last year with John Wiles and he said that the next version
of the code would be written to exclude modsine's because the listing
authorities had a problem with putting a safety label (listing) on equipment
that was not compatible with anything that could be plugged into it. Laser
printers, smoke alarms, and other appliances.
Makes me wonder what will happen to all the computer UPS's being built, last
I knew they ware all modsine.

Why? Is there a safety hazard I should know about? Most of my inspected
systems get a sinewave anyway, but what is their reasoning?
