I was working on a SWWP Whisper 900 system yesterday and found that there
was a constant DC fault to ground (I was running a ground wire and it would
arc every time it touched the case). Needless to say this got some
attention.
Some further experimenting showed that the easy wire case was live @ around
26 volts anywhere that I put the probe. There was no similar fault in the
inverter case or any where else.
There was no sign of a short anywhere in the system and all the wires were
in good shape. It seemed to be live only to ground.
This system is under a year old and the wind was not functioning at the
time.
He built the tower in the trees, actually 20' under the trees! Output is a
problem, but not mine.
We will be moving the tower to improve things, somewhat.

Has anyone else ever found this and a cure?

Thanks,
Bob
