I installed a 8 kW air cooled unit last summer for a client that wanted back up
power to cover our many winter grid outages. The unit got had a factory wiring
problem which I had to troubleshoot to find and fix. The wiring problem had
fried the internal starting battery charger so I got a spare from the dealer, no
problem. I am however STILL (over a year later) waiting to get paid (as I was
promised by the factory) for the work I did (sigh).

I was pleased that the basic transfer switch and wiring were all laid out for
easy installation. The operation is flawless, however these units are not
designed or made heavy use. They are designed for short, intermittent coverage
(say 5 to 10 hours a year) of grid outages.
