This is an appropriate method. We did this with 2 1800s and 2 1100s
recently, and it took 6 breaker spaces--you'd The smallest box that could do
this is a QO8-16/100RB, though I might pick a bigger box just to have more
warehouse space for wiring. However, a couple of notes of caution:
1. You must size the conductors between the AC combiner box/breaker panel
for 60A @ 240 VAC with ~1% voltage drop. Size your conduit accordingly.
2. At 15A X 4 = 60A AC, your main residential service panel must be at least
300A.

I am installing a 10KWP system using 4 Sunnyboy 2500 watt inverters. On the
AC side, it would be most convenient to backfeed a subpanel with the 4
outputs, then have a single 240 circuit between the sub and main panel,
roughly 100' away. It beats running 4 seperate circuits directly to the
main, and I can also monitor total array output with a single KWH meter this
way. Any pitfalls to this method?
