Doug,

To be crystalline clear here, the test protocol is still under construction
and parts of the protocol are impossible to do without an array simulator
that currently does not exist. The international standards folks are working
on the specifications of such a device, and that will be very helpful.

What has occurred to date is that a few inverters have been run through
sections of the protocol at Sandia National Labs in support of a project
that we are managing for the California Energy Commission. The results of
those tests will become public once both the technical advisory committee
and the industry advisory committee has had a chance to review the test
reports.

John Berdner has not heard anything yet because the results have not been
made available to the industry advisory committee yet. But he will be among
the first to see them. Thanks for your interest and let us all remember that
the purpose of this is to gain a better understanding of how and why things
work so that we can continue to build successful PV systems that promote the
wider use of this amazing technology. I am encouraged to see the level of
interest in this issue.

Is there anything that I should be aware of as a designer?  You are speaking
in fairly ambiguous terms in regards to what you have observed.  I
understand that you don't want to alter perception about a specific product,
but science is science.
