Here is a tip, when it isn't too late -- When customer is dealing 
with a pump installer/driller who doesn't accept reality (or 
possibility) of a battery/inverter system, tell him the pump has to 
run on a small generator. In remote-market areas, it is common 
knowledge that a 3-wire pump is necessary in that case.

I also agree with Christopher F, about using a relay-type control 
box, not solid state. It is easy to replace one with another. Relay 
is more forgiving of voltage dips during startup.
