Congratulations. You get the "Weird One" of the week award!
Let me get this straight... he's trying to "improve on" 58KWH/Day? In
CA where you can't (well...shouldn't) net meter hydro and he's
probably offgid anyway? Is he smelting aluminium or something? If
it's a voltage drop issue (and I just bet there's that!), you could
generate @ 3 phase HV and transform/rectify it at the battery bank.
The downside is it's fairly expensive and a lot more complex than
what you propose which costs nothing.
I wouldn't. Even if nothing shorts out-and that's a fairly big if-
you will likely have input voltage differences which will probably
give the inverters fits. At the least I'd check with Xantrex (find
someone who speaks/understands SW) to see if there is a no-go issue.
Better yet, ask Christopher!
