Michael will beat me with his moderator's stick for posting this off-topic 
message, but I thought maybe I could help some folks out on both side of a 
battery give-away.

Got this message this morning:

We are a small family business forced to relocate some railroad equipment 
we own.  We have approximately 1000 pounds of Edison Cell batteries that 
came out of rail passenger cars, part of a 32-volt system.  They have been 
reconditioned but we are in a bind, can't move them ourselves, and would be 
happy to give them to someone who can use them.  Any ideas?  They are in 
Staunton, Virginia.

If anyone has a use for these batteries, or can help these folks give them 
a new home, contact me ~off list~ and I'll forward the sender's email 
address to you.
