!#%!#% Beeping [RE-wrenches]

Colleagues:

While recording in Cool edit, if I adjust my volume level in SNDVOL32.EXE, 
it creates a beep that is recorded on my WAV file.  Similarly, if I am 
using the computer to type a play list and hit two keys at once, a beep is 
also created on my WAV file.

I went to Control Panel and turned off all sounds.  The beep changed to a 
lower frequency tone at a lower volume, but there is still a beep.  I 
renamed the windows/Media folder (that which holds the Windows sounds), 
still no luck.

Any suggestions?
