LED Christmas lights and small inverter [RE-wrenches]

As some of you know from the various RE fairs this summer - I have been
"testing" the LED lights in many unusual applications (LED jump roping
has been the crowd favorite activity so far). So here is what I have
found so far:
The Foreverbright LED "holiday" lights (can't say Chistmas anymore) are
powered from AC actually - most are split into two sepearate strings and
each has a small resistor in series with the LEDs to limit the current.
The newest ones have non-removeable lights - they are "over molded" onto
the wires - which is much better than the older removeable type
(especially for jump roping). I also have operated the new type
underwater on a GFCI outlet without problem for a few hours... (do this
at your own risk).
I have powered them on sinewave and modified without performance issues
- they use about 6 watts per string BTW regardless of color it seems.
They also work great with search mode enabled for a pretty wild strobe
light effect - especially with the OutBack inverter where the search can
be adjusted for the number of cycles both ON and OFF in one hertz steps
(its fun to try and sync it to the beat of music).
I have had one string with a bad resitor so half of them go out after
about 2 minutes. We also have busted off numerous lights and even broke
the wires from the jump roping experiments - but that's what testing is
about right?
You can get the lights directly from foreverbright at wholesale prices
through a couple of people - email me and I will send the contacts. It
would be worth offering them for the upcoming holiday season to your
customers - although I expect them to be a pretty common item in the
stores this year.
