LED Christmas lights and small inverter [RE-wrenches]

I tried them for the first time last Christmas and loved them. I was running
a 1991 Heart HF2800 mod-square boat anchor at the time, and they were fine.
The clincher was when my boy turned them on while I was watching the amp
scale on the Tri-Met. No change. The day after Christmas I bought all the
string left at 50% off for next year...
