c-40 battery charging [RE-wrenches]

I believe you could parallel two C40s if they were used as diversion
regulators. Interesting to note, they still operate as a three stage
charge control when used as diversion regulators.

If it wasn't for the fact that I like MPPT charge controllers so much,
this is what I'd be using on almost all PV systems. Instead of wasting
extra energy during the sunny summer months, you can dump it into a hot
water tank.

Hi Daryl,

You cannot parallel two C40's on the array side. Once one of the units
starts to regulate, the other will see the total array current and
become
overloaded or over-temped. Once it shuts down, the same thing would
happen
to the first unit. You must separate the arrays.

Hello to all
Can I connect two c-40 charge controllers to one PV
array? Such that each charges a battery string
seperatly?

The reason for the question is to seperate two battery
strings to prevent thermal runaway.

Daryl
