Remote SW display problem [RE-wrenches]

You should try it with another known good cable on the inverter at the 
customer's location. Its not likely but is a possible problem with the 
cable - its shouldn't cause this type of problem as the info is 
transmitted to the remote display as a single line of data that just 
"wraps" itself on the display onto the two lines. 

Its also possible that the shipping process restored the connection of 
the glass LCD panel to the circuit board - the interconnections on these 
can be a bit iffy with some brands of displays.
