I agree with Eric.

To add to Eric's points, this guy is another semiconductor researcher who
has no idea what he is talking about related to practical PV. It reminds me
of so many things that another U.S.-based researcher has said that were
almost as ridiculous. This is B.S. again.

There seems to be some confusion in the article between watts and
watt-hours.

In any case, we have to keep in  mind that a less efficient but cheap PV
cell runs into the same problem that a-Si has. Less efficiency means
more surface area. Which means more mounting structure and more labour
costs.
