Phasing out Lead-acid Batteries [RE-wrenches]

If the automotive world switches to Nickel Metal Hydride and Lithium, it
would bring the cost down and tremendously advance the performance for
the weakest link in solar systems, the batteries. Currently, these
advanced battery technologies are too expensive because they are not
mass produced in the sizes needed for the automotive and renewable
energy industry (the same problem the PV industry has). 

As they switch to 42 volt systems, it will have an impact on the
renewable energy world that we need to respond to, as well.
