Bob
Saw some of the other comments and suggestions. All good however an
engineering contractor like me will do it for you using there subs and mark
it up. Go to the source and call a soils engineer or two, these guys inspect
the holes the drillers drill and will know who will give you a fair shake
and won't gouge you. OR find a distributor of earth augers or parts in your
area and they will tell you who has the equipment and skills to do what you
need.
BE FOREWARNED that there are almost as many ways to drill a hole as there
are to skin a cat, some are better than others for accuracy and cost, every
guy that drills holes will tell you the system he uses is best (
coincidentally he doesn't have any of that "cheap" equipment that the other
guy is trying to "con off on you" ) If you have more specific details (
i.e.. pole, tower, multiple location, depth, expected soil type, terrain ? )
contact me of list, and I'll try and steer you right

Subject: Drilling contractor needed [RE-wrenches]

I am looking for a contractor who can "drill and bell" for a tower in the
northern Vermont area, around Burlington.
Anyone have any ideas where to find someone who does this type of work? The
phone book is of little help.

Thanks,
Bob
