Hi Folks,
A story that might be of interest.
I recently designed a solar system for a chicken hatchery on the remote
Solomon Islands.
It was on the Southern most Rennel Island.
I used 4 x Unisolar US64's and a Steca inverter/regulator.
Now a cyclone hit and the Islanders took shelter in caves, some
sheltered in the building housing the incubator.
The winds, 100mph+, lifted the panels which were seen cart wheeling
down the road for some distance.
After the storm had passed, the panels were found and remounted, wired
in again and the system functions as before.
Now there is a robust product...
Cheers,
Carl Emerson
